Advertising Brochure
The Challenge
For this project, I was tasked with making an advertising brochure for an all-girls high school - St. Joseph’s Academy (SJA). I made two separate brochures in order to market the school to potential students and their parents respectively.
Designing for Students
For this brochure, I focused more on student life - clubs, athletics, etc. - because this iteration is aimed towards potential students. I did this because a teen is much less likely to care about aspects like tuition and they most likely want to know what the actual school environment and extracurriculars are like.
Designing for Parents
For this iteration of the brochure, since it was aimed towards parents, I shortened the student life section and added a large section about tuition costs, financial aid, and scholarships. It is very likely that a parent would want to know the cost of something from the get-go, which is why the section goes in-depth about all of the money variables at SJA. Additionally, I only shortened the student life section rather than removing it because, while parents are concerned with tuition, they also want to know that their kids are going to get a quality education and have fun doing it.
Skills
This project displays my ability to design for a specific audience and refine my design to accommodate different audiences. Additionally, this project displays my ability to sift through large sources of information and pick out the information relevant to the intended audience. This project also displays my ability to display information in a way that is consistent, concise, and visually appealing.
